May Warblers, Costa Rican Style

Niagara Falls State Park, right above the cataracts, is where I used to bike to on May days to see dozens of fantastic chestnut Bay-breasted Warblers whispering from the canopy, American Redstarts and Tennessee Warblers and Nashville Warblers filling the woods with song.

Wood Warbler Names Done Right

Naming a bird species for the part of the world in which it breeds or resides makes sense. Even Canada Warbler (which should really be rechristened Necklaced Warbler ) breeds almost entirely in Canada, which is far more than can be said for the Canada Goose ! I love Nashville Warblers from every angle. NAMED FOR PLACES.
