The Cry of the Curlew

10,000 Birds

Curlews are birds of serious conservation concern in the UK, with numbers falling sharply this century. Curlews are long-lived birds, so their decline is not always apparent, with pairs returning annually to their favoured nesting area, despite not having fledged any chicks for years. Males have noticeably shorter beaks.)

10,000 Birds

When you hear the word “biofuel,” you probably think of corn, right? And some of those options may be more beneficial to birds than are acres and acres of cornfields. In it, researchers from Wisconsin compared cornfields with grasslands in terms of which provided better bird habitat.

Sepilok: Worth a Second Look

10,000 Birds

To plenty others it is a beuatifully accessible patch of lowland rainforest, the perfect location to pick up a host of lowland birds. The Belgrade Amazon Campaign or the House of the Eagle

10,000 Birds

I have been there several times last month, but barely ever managed to do any proper birding! Despite mostly guiding them, I still somehow managed to see a European Badger sitting and watching me back for several seconds, before it slipped into bushes and quite a few White-tailed Eagles , e.g. four in just one morning.
