The main pollinators are the Honey Possum and the New Holland Honeyeater and they have both been painted onto the silos. As for the Honey Possum in the artwork they are a species that I do not have a photo of! It took 31 days for Amok Island to paint the grain silos in Ravensthorpe and 338 litres of paint. New Holland Honeyeater.

In responding to Suzie’s post defending wildlife rehabilitation I began to think again about the areas in which animal rights and animal welfare overlap with the field of conservation, and the ways in which they don’t. Not from an environmental perspective but from a “don’t you like animals?”

People have moved useful plants and animals around with them as long as they had the wit to do so. So that New Zealand would end up with quite a few species of animal not originally found here is hardly surprising of itself. There were no mammals, little game, and not many birds either.

Defenders of the gun club accused me of lying, of distorting facts, of being anti-hunting, of being an animal rights activist, of being allied with the dreaded Friends of Animals, of hiding my true agenda (gun control), and of being unconcerned that animal lovers were supposedly threatening members of the gun club with death.

Tree, 44, has been rewarded for his compassion by rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) which gave him its Hero to Animals Award. I also agree with PETA that the guy they've arrested for starting the fire should face animal cruelty charges. And getting recognition he deserves for his kindness.Mr
