I understand that they are trying to encourage people to eat fish and other marine life that are not part of a collapsing fishery. I'm not sure how this fits into my support of animal rights though. If you are eating a fish, you are still eating a living thing. Tags: oceans marine animals. But I may not find one.

On Dolphins as a Gateway to Animal Rights

The way I see it, there are three camps on this one: People who think that dolphins or Great Apes or chimps could function as a gateway to other animals getting rights. You could be for or against animal rights and believe the gateway theory. Would you actually actively campaign against rights for some species?

I notice that if I use "animal rights activist" or anything with the word "rights" in it, because it's loaded and misunderstood, my listener often has an immediate bias of some kind. Dan Richards, president of the California Fish and Game Commission, is shown in the photo, holding a mountain lion he reportedly hunted and killed in Idaho, according to Western Outdoor Press, which published the photo. Hunting mountain lion is legal in Idaho, but illegal in California.
