In this case, it augments and clarifies previous knowledge regarding the classification of the birds in North America. However, like any supplement, this publication does provide something extra, something additional.

I investigated these questions and I have some, but certainly not all the answers. from South America. Mitred Parakeets are native to southwestern South America. Are they “countable”? Mitred Parakeets have been seen in New York since at least 1984, mostly in southwestern Nassau County and Queens.

You rush over to investigate, and there are birds in your fireplace. These fabulous birds fly all the way to South America for the winter, then return in the spring. Even the names we give to some birds reflect their dependence on the cultivated landscape – we have Barn Owls ( Tyto alba ) and Barn Swallows ( Hirundo rustica ) over much of the world, and Orchard Orioles ( Icterus spurius ) in the Americas really do have a fondness for fruit groves.
