Animal research facilities will be required to disclosee more information online about their experiments under a court settlement signed Wednesday by the Humane Society of the United States and the Agriculture Department. I worry it won't pass the DC district court for some wacky reason. I don't like to celebrate until I'm sure of something.

I've used the term "animal activism" lately as an experiment. With more than 2 million members across the globe, PETA is the largest animal advocacy group and comparable in size to the human rights organization, Amnesty International. First, note that now PeTA is an "animal advocacy group." But that's not the telling item.

This compilation is particularly important for people who believe in God and whose advocacy has religion or faith or spirituality as a component. I'm reminded of Amy Gutman's Introduction to J.M. Costello does not answer these questions in her lectures, because they are too philosophical for the immediate task at hand.

If PCRM can get more people to try a "vegan diet" for 21 days as suggested, which is what in my experience used to be called "strict vegetarianism" (and which is no better), that's an actual decrease in animal use for those people. They're not saying, "try veganism for 21 days." If they did that, they'd most certainly get pounced on.
