Adopt a displaced pet. If you’re looking for a pet, consider adopting a cat or dog displaced by the recent disasters. Petfinder.com lists animals for adoption. Educating ourselves to the need, and how we can help, is part of the solution. They also have a foundation to help pets in Haiti. Spread the word…and pray.

11am: Get a call from Munchkin’s new family that they’re driving four hours to pick her up. 3pm: Arrive at the destination within one minute of the forever family coming to pick up the munchkin. 3:05pm: Feel convinced that this family is perfect for the munchkin (already did a virtual home visit a week earlier). I’ll meet them.

Experienced birders can identify birds using GISS; all birders can identify birds if they adopt the BBI approach. Bird families that resemble each other are combined into one chapter, for example “Owls, Nightjars, and Nighthawks,” and are then treated separately within the chapter. So say Kevin T.

We provide education about the breed to private individuals interested in adopting, and to shelters as well, in an effort to help ensure the integrity of the breed as a whole. We provide vetting, transportation, and foster homes for each dog in need, until he or she can be carefully matched to an approved home.
