One website states that only 15% of the birds that hatch make it to become first year breeding adults, 6% make it to the second year, and 3% to the third year. Other species – such as starlings or t**s – stealing the nesting site of Eurasian Nuthatches is one of the major reasons for breeding failure.

Further down the road, we reach a derelict building with a large veranda hidden among the trees – an abandoned hunting lodge (if I were in a situation to invest, I would choose to upgrade this into a luxury wildlife lodge). One White-eyed Buzzard has turned its back to us. It is too early to show.

Black Storks migrate along and breed in the Danube flood zone. White-tailed Eagle breeds along large rivers, wherever water mingles with forest.

So, I anxiously followed the “Flock to Marion 2022” Facebook group in anticipation for open cabins to come up for sale. About half of all breeding Wandering Albatross nest on the Prince Edward Islands. After looking through every bar, we concluded that all had abandoned the ship without warning us. and seabirders.

As a youngster of 10-weeks old, it is abandoned by its parents and left to fend for itself. Each year 120,000 birds visit the island to breed from March through August in burrows that riddle the landscape. You have got to admire the Manx Shearwater. Photographs taken on Skomer were limited to one picture per bird.

Animals in the tri-state area are euthanized daily, rescue groups are unable to save as many lives as they wish, and animals spend years in boarding kennels while awaiting adopters to fall in love with them.
