And while I definitely consider myself more of a writer than a wildlife photographer, for once I have enough good photos to let my pictures do most of the talking. The day started out with some typical monsoon-season cloudiness, so my first photos suffered a bit from low lighting.

Islands, for various reasons, experience more extinctions than continents (with Africa being the only continent not suffering a bird extinction!). Then rumors leaked out that at this same site the mythical Red Owl could easily be seen, Madagascar Serpent Eagle was breeding and other rare birds and lemurs abounded.

In the grand scheme of things, this is just a small town and only one person was killed due to injuries suffered. Kelly Preheim was talking about the large numbers of Snowy Owls on the nearby National Wildlife Refuge. On Mother’s Day, an F2 Tornado hit the small town of Delmont, South Dakota.

Soon we were out of the protected harbour and into choppier waters, and here I have to say I suffered for about two hours from the dreaded affliction known as sea-sickness.
