He subsequently leaves for Peru and gets kidnapped and killed by Sendero Luminoso – the local brand of Maoists. Week Fourteen: The Center of Australia, and Sydney Part #1

Emus roam the open areas, and surprisingly, various parrots, lorikeets or cockatoos can be found in most any major grove of trees. This Wedge-tailed Eagle was sitting along side one of the roads, eyeing a small road killed Kangaroo. I had one huge target, one that I had missed while at Melbourne, the Powerful Owl.

Little Big Year -Week 38: Our first week in Costa Rica

After bashing it on a branch to kill it, it did finally get it swallowed. I have had a tough time tracking down any owls, but we did find this pair of Pacific Screech Owls. Some of the highlights for here include my first Toucan, a Keel-billed Toucan, and the later in the day, a Collared Aracari.
