So, I welcomed the opportunity to read and review Flying Dinosaurs: How Fearsome Reptiles Became Birds , by John Pickrell, published in the United States by Columbia University Press. Don’t let the university press imprint deceive you. Huxley, an evolutionary biologist, that birds evolved from dinosaurs, but it was still a rocky ride.

If I was an ornithologist aiming for a grant, I would now definitely highlight the need for more research on this topic. The Grey-Streaked Flycatcher looks only marginally more interesting, and while the Latin species name griseisticta sounds vaguely mysterious, it only means grey-spotted. Accessorizing for birds.
