It might not be a rainbow bridge incident but just some puppers/kittens fooling around their humans but I can’t go through the thing without welling up. Now when I see a puppy/dog in the streets I try my best to feed them and pet them and I hold my breath when I hear a puppy crying somewhere outside thinking someone might be hurting him.

One of the largest animal rescue operations in Canadian history just got a lot bigger: about 90 puppies have been born since hundreds of dogs were seized northwest of Ottawa. "We We have a lot of puppies here and a lot more puppies coming," said Rebecca Aldworth, the executive director of Humane Society International Canada.

No dog is happier to be rescued. My human kept me in an enclosed porch because, let’s face it, I was crawling with fleas and pretty filthy. We dogs are wired by nature to be humans’ companions. After all, dogs have the longest history of co-habitation with humans of any animal. Yup, I was rescued in Africa.

Hey, if it's important enough to mention in his speech that he was getting a puppy, it's important enough for us to talk about it. LA Unleashed has a good roundup of reaction from the Humane Society and PETA. He did say in the past that he would adopt a dog. Let's hope he sends a progressive message by giving a shelter dog a new home.

There are also tales of dogs who weren’t specially trained, but who turned out to have skills that helped their humans in unexpected ways! A Rottweiler named Sheba who broke free from her chain and rescued nine of her puppies after her owner buried them alive in a two-foot deep grave because they weren’t purebred.
