PETA and the Alliance for Animals are asking for charges to be filed against the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The university stopped conducting the experiments last fall when it learned that it may have been violating state law, said Eric Sandgren, who oversees animal research at UW-Madison.

I notice that if I use "animal rights activist" or anything with the word "rights" in it, because it's loaded and misunderstood, my listener often has an immediate bias of some kind. People have a relationship, whether or not they are aware, to the term "animal rights." And that relationship usually has something to do with PeTA.

It seems that these people, who purport to claim to care so much about animals, are completely ignorant of the existence of any animal life beyond horses, cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. As you can see here , PETA does not even address these issues at all, while portraying themselves as indeed giving a damn.
