When taking the issue to simplest common denominator, spaying/neutering is essentially exercising human dominance over non-human animals. Meanwhile, I would love to be able to have some kind of law against human beings producing/reproducing more than one person per person. But who cares about me? What do you all t hink?

His passion and compassion for humans is immense, but he appears to have some kind of mental block with nonhuman animals. I suppose speciesism/human exceptionalism is at the heart of the matter. He just doesn't believe that other beings lives might have a purpose all their own that is entirely unrelated to humans. I'm on my way.

I am a vegan who has adopted a diabetic greyhound who eats vegan food ( Natural Balance ), and who is adopting a boy from Russia. As a vegan, part of what I believe is that bringing animals onto this planet to use them as food or as pets isn't ethical. Tags: Activism Current Affairs Ethics. Another "which is more important?"

Would I ever say I restrict my diet to food that wasn't made from the parts of creatures as sentient as the greyhounds I share my home with? How about an ethical adventure ? And when it comes to doing the math regarding the way I help individuals, though I never regret the decision to help, I understand that some might say, for instance, that for the amount of money I spent on Violet in one year (I think $15,000 was her most expensive year), I could have paid for the surgeries for several broken-leg greyhounds.
