Scores of abandoned dogs, cats and livestock from Utah animal shelters become subjects of laboratory research at the University of Utah each year. That's because of a little-known state law that requires government-run pounds to turn animals over to researchers if asked. From the AP.

I thought it was an urban myth that animal shelters would actually turn over unwanted animals to laboratories for research, but apparently not. Montcalm County has taken a step towards ending its relationship with an animal research facility. In return, the company can use some of the unwanted dogs for animal research.

The dog had broke parts of the body and injuries from sharp object, also it was raped by an unknown man in Arachova. Only one eyewitness talked, a lady which said "I saw Oliver with a man together going to a warehouse, I heared Oliver crying and when the dog came out it was injured. Only human hands are possible to do such things!

Investigative journalism by the Salt Lake Tribune, following-up on allegations levelled by PETA against the University of Utah's Comparative Medicine Center and the Cardiovascular Research & Training Institute laboratories revealed the two laboratories had used 190 dogs and cats in 2009, all obtained from shelters.

I come down hard on Puerto Rico, ever since the scandal in which dogs were being thrown off bridges by an animal control company. Plus, the horrible pictures I've seen of strays in Puerto Rico. They've been planning to build a facility to breed research monkeys in Puerto Rico for some time. Plus, well, you get this picture.
