Mostly I went because some farmers there keep a lovely dog in a cage, and I have started taking him for long walks around the fields. And the dog is happy. Much easier to be loved by a dog than by any of my many cats. The farmers do not really understand this, but they do not mind either. The moment the worm gives up.

It turned out that growling, protracted howls, and lyrics like “You may think I’m a dog, but really I’m a wolf” become tolerable when the alternatives are dance remixes of the Carpenters’ love ballads.” Eventually, I tired of this and began to poke around the glove compartment for other options, but there were few. How ironic.

While walking the dog I could hear Serin , Wren and several Black Redstarts proclaiming their territories. Case in point: former emperor of Japan, His Majesty Akihito, is an avid birder. The sentinels of a Portuguese spring were singing. I decided to go back to the Lezírias and specifically, visit EVOA. He is always smiling.
