The only cool thing is that Gene Bauer's views on the meat industry are so similar to those expressed on this blog a few weeks ago. Humane treatment runs counter to the entire industry when the point is to make money by processing these animals as fast as possible. No wonder there is so much "farm" animal abuse out there.

There have been inquiries as to the possible relationship between his dissection of cats in school and the 19 counts of cruelty he is being charged with. Felony animal cruelty is the cruel killing of an animal, and he is also being charges with 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body.) We don't say we hate cows.

I haven't examined each institutionalized use of animals the way that Dunayer has, with the possible exception of vivisection, and I learned a lot about the details of the language of each industry. Often it permanently disables or kills. By pairing humane with slaughter , legislators have sanctioned horrific cruelty and mass murder.

Unsurprisingly while the use of 1080 is strongly supported by the conservation movement here, it does face opposition from animal rights groups which consider the cruelty of the deaths to not be worth the benefits, and instead advocate using other methods, such as fertility control.

HSUS also reports find fur garments falsely labeled "faux" at Loehmann's, revealing an industry-wide problem when it comes to fur labeling. Wherever companies profit from cruelty, you can rest assured that they will try to hide that cruelty from consumers, because cruelty makes a rather poor PR statement.

The meat and dairy industries want to keep their operations away from the public’s discriminating eyes, but as groups like PETA and the Humane Society have shown us in their graphic and disturbing undercover investigations, factory farms are mechanized madness and slaughterhouses are torture chambers to these unfortunate and feeling beings.
