You’re not so keen on the idea of leaving your pets to your next-door neighbor. It sounds a bit over-the-top but a lot of people have experienced separation anxiety when they go for days without seeing their pets. Disneyland has a Kennel Club where you can board your pet for a day. That is one pet on vacation, I’ll say!

On the pet side, the H3N8 virus, or canine influenza, has been a growing concern. H3N8 is the virus that causes flu in dogs, and while there are no known cases of a human catching the flu from their pet, it can be passed from dog to dog. Consult with your veterinarian to see if vaccine is appropriate for your pet.

Big Tom was the guest most anxious to leave my humble abode and was returned this morning, to a ghost town of a colony, with few cats in sight. Little Black is in a large dog kennel, curled up in her litter box, going nowhere near her tasty, stinky canned food, and she will be returned tomorrow. Duffy cannot be in a home with a cat.
