When I last visited the town almost 10 years ago, it had a Wild West feel, and Wikipedia claims that it is “an important location for trade with Myanmar, in both legal and illegal goods and services” but it seemed pretty tame to me this time. Some research topics seem a bit bizarre to me.

It is listed as Near Threatened, partly due to the usual occurrence of illegal trade for the pet market. It is listed as vulnerable, again as a consequence of illegal trade and habitat loss. Like many humans, it is presumed to be monogamous (source: HBW). Or US$ 8 for the pair below. There is a song by a band named Godspeed You!
