White Stork in New York

It seems likely that this individual bird was an escape from a local zoo, as has already been theorized on the New York State listserv. And eastern Long Island has seen its share of visitors from the east this year, with everything from Tufted Ducks to Northern Lapwings to a host of Eurasian Wigeons showing up.

Birding Shanghai in June 2022

Strangely, the photo accompanying the Wikipedia entry on Collared Finchbills , Asian birds, was taken at Cincinnati zoo. I wonder what Americans would think if, in a Wikipedia entry, a Bald Eagle would be illustrated using a photo taken at an Albanian zoo. There was a breeding pair at Binjiang Forest Park this June.
