Not enough Woodpeckers

The little red bit on the crown on this photo indicates that it is a male bird. The species name “tukki” is not derived from a beloved but now extinct Eastern European car brand but from the Sumatran word for woodpecker. The pink lipstick shape on the face of the bird counterintuitively indicates that this is a male.

Spotting scope review: Swarovski 25-60×65 STX

My best bird of the weekend was a Great Black-backed Gull , a rarity in a land-locked Serbia, with less than 10 observations so far. Alright, it did focused on the weldings of the barge and not the bird, but it was still amazing. (I The choice of a scope reflects one’s approach to birding. in which way? In every way!

“Condors over Cologne” – Rogue Ales & Spirits: Condor Kolsch

In 1987, only 27 were left in the wild and drastic action was taken to save the species: all remaining birds were captured, the California Condor was declared extinct in the wild, and a captive breeding program was begun, initially carried out by the San Diego Wild Animal Park and the Los Angeles Zoo.
