I did find some photographs used in both guides, notably the impressive male Bald Eagle and the 2015 ABA Bird of the Year, Green Heron. Kirtland’s Warbler is a classic niche species; they breed in only very specific conditions, which occur in only a very specific area. this species breeds. Fortunately, there were still a handful of immature birds alive at sea, and a few years later they were back on Toroshima breeding again. That would have been awful.

Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit recently decided that the Sonoran Desert population of Bald Eagle is not a listable taxon under the Endangered Species Act. The Bald Eagle is one of the true American conservation success stories: the iconic national bird was listed in 1967 when there were less than 500 breeding pairs in the lower 48.

A good way up one of the tallest pines is an Eagle’s nest. Every year there manage to be two eagles up there in that nest. Ducks are easier prey for the Eagle. You can tell when the Eagle is aloft because the Loons alarm call. Every now and then you see an Eagle and a Loon interact a bit. So, no Eagles maybe.

Another of Ghana’s forest gems, the seldom encountered Fraser’s Eagle Owl. .
