Each of the six species in Costa Rica sports beautiful plumage with green and blue hues highlighted with rufous tones, and several also have long, racket-tipped tails. It was tough to pick out just one tanager species, many are downright stunning. The Halloween party never ends for these feathered Fae folk. Green Honeycreeper.

We support two ocean protection organizations: People for Puget Sound (local) and the Ocean Conservancy. The purpose is to protect ocean species as a whole. I was reading Ocean Conservancy's magazine today. For the past couple of issues I've read, it has had a "sustainable seafood recipe."

A result of this evolutionary constraint is that later organisms that build complex neural processing organs (brains) to do advanced brainy things have to work with a cell type that is only fed with one kind of sugar, that requires a fair amount of coddling to operate, and that takes up a lot of space (one cell per bit of information).

Primates are exceptional among the mammals, living amphibians (which represent only a small part of the original amphibian family tree) are pretty noisy too.
