New England Reptile Distributers just released a video explaining a terrible incident involving the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). FWC officers arrived at a reptile facility and forcefully killed 29 reticulated pythons, 5 Burmese pythons, and 1 pregnant Boa constrictor. How would people react?

It is illegal for any person to take, possess, transport, sell, or purchase them or their parts, such as feathers, nests, or eggs, without a permit. Because IT IS ILLEGAL TO INTERFERE WITH NESTING BIRDS!! As a result, certain activities affecting swallows are subject to legal restrictions 1. I wonder what that’s all about?

The statute defines a depiction of animal cruelty as “any visual or auditory depiction, including any photograph, motion-picture film, video recording, electronic image, or sound recording of conduct in which a living animal is intentionally maimed, mutilated, tortured, wounded, or killed, if such conduct is illegal.”

6): I do not agree that “anyone with an appreciation for the First Amendment” must conclude that “crush videos” or videos of vicious dogfights are protected speech and that the federal law in question should therefore be struck down. Only a very narrow range of activities come under the sweep of this law, and all of them are illegal.

At 15h59, the female picked up the fourth chick and killed it by repeatedly crushing it with her beak.
