Many shelters do not intake pit bulls at all, and many of the shelters that do find themselves limited in their intake by state regulations or their own policies that dictate pit bull capacity. However, any breed of dog that has been abused, neglected, or homeless may be aggressive to humans or other dogs.

Sadly, shelters and rescues are full of cats and are already full. So here is a bit of a reminder to please spay and neuter your pets… it’s so sad that these gorgeous kittens won’t know the fun of having a human servant! They sure are cute though, aren’t they?

I rejoined my local animal shelter's volunteer program a few months ago (long story as to why I quit in the first place). One day while I was volunteering I met a little pit bull puppy who was recovering from a spaying. I believe that a feral may never be a lap cat and they may never even let you pet them. But I'm no dog expert.

Here are a few great tips for future and current pet owners. The Shift: Instead of buying your new friend from a pet store or breeder, adopt one from a shelter. Most shelter animals are spayed or neutered, have been treated for worms, and have at least their first set of shots. Pets are the same way.
