I assured him I knew what the situation was, and hurried out the door with a crate, gloves, and a large bag of frozen mice. I continued to toss, and he cheerfully continued to snarf up mice as fast as I could throw them. Guardians of human health, and a pretty awesome bird species as well … what a package!

Spotlight: Lisa Beth Acton, Raising Ravens

This summer Lisa raised three orphaned Common Ravens. They were not aware of wildlife laws, and thought they could raise and release them. We decided to raise them, and hoped they would wild up quickly if we followed the protocol for avoiding imprinting. She has a captive-bred education bird named Xena, a Eurasian Eagle Owl.

I have seen unconcerned Cape Grey Mongoose and Four-striped Mice though.
