Last November, my family and I were visiting my sister in Long Island, New York when I got an email alert that both a Barnacle Goose and Greater White-Fronted Goose were spotted out on Shinnecock Bay on the east end–two uncommon birds that I had never seen (not surprising since I just started, but still sounded good to me).

Killingholme Haven Pits revisited

10,000 Birds

Unfortunately the Bar-tailed Godwit was too distant on an outgoing tide to be able to read any writing on the yellow flag, so although we know it was marked in Norway since 2016 we are not able to find out the individual birds history. Another exciting find on October 27th was a family of Whooper Swans at the Killingholme Haven Pits.
