Here are the sentences that I want to bring attention to: The family of Irv Bell, 64, has been growing hogs in Zanesville, Ohio, since the 19th century. This adds another layer to yesterday's discussion about family. Irv Bell's farm is a family farm. It's also a factory farm. After all, he's part of a family business.

I'm not one of those people who thinks family is composed of only humans or humans who are biologically related. The idea of family is currently being used by the dairy industry in a series of commercials with the tag line: "99% of dairy farms are family owned." Ninety-nine percent of dairy farms are family owned.

An Ashy Drongo apparently spends approximately 71% of its time scanning (what non-scientists would probably call looking around), 9% eating (less than a typical Chinese human but much more than me), calling 7%, flying 7%, and 6% preening. Another – much rarer – drongo at Nanhui is the Ashy Drongo.

For example, why is it so hard for our family members and co-workers – many of whom have companion animals that they love – to cut cruelty from their diets and go vegan?

Today's New York Times gives us Adam Shriver's Op-Ed " Not Grass-Fed, But at Least Pain-Free ," which presents its dilemma at the end: If we cannot avoid factory farms altogether, the least we can do is eliminate the unpleasantness of pain in the animals that must live and die on them. What about being torn from your family?

His passion and compassion for humans is immense, but he appears to have some kind of mental block with nonhuman animals. I suppose speciesism/human exceptionalism is at the heart of the matter. He just doesn't believe that other beings lives might have a purpose all their own that is entirely unrelated to humans.

The kids made tortillas from scratch and then went to a factory to see how professionals do it. Any other factories on the agenda? The site says food production factories are included , but I doubt that means those involving the slaughter of animals.). I don't think of that as a restriction. fun" said one (female) child.
