Chimpanzees ate monkey species that had viruses they were not immune to.What is mostly the case with animals, is that they are always picky and by their own instincts determine what to and not to consume.Insects and worms will never touch a GMO fruit or food, but only natural, unpesticied vegetables and fruits right?

The arrival of 48 monkeys on a flight from China this weekend has brought Air Canada under fire for shipping primates destined for research laboratories, but the airline says it is obliged by federal law to accept monkeys as cargo. Under pressure from animal rights groups and the public, many airlines have banned the practice.

Tree leaves have a reputation for being hard to digest and animals, such as monkeys, that feed primarily on leaves, spend most of their time either eating or resting while their guts, with their specialised bacteria, break down the cellulose and extract the goodness from the meal. It’s actually a pretty classic example of convergent evolution, wherein two unrelated families of lifeforms evolve to fill the same niche independently. And when you think about it, that seems right. millions years ago. Unlike the Turkey Vulture, who smells out decaying flesh, every one of these vultures forages by sight.

My personal favorites are the images that show the relationships that are at the heart of this book–a Linneated Woodpecker perched opposite a bromeliad on an exposed tree, Azteca ants on a cecropia tree whose decaying parts provide food, and, a little distressingly, two Capuchin Monkeys feeding on a Toucan (thanks to James Adams).

For example, you could say, “among mammals, only three families include species with a meaningful degree of root eating” or “within the family that includes lemmings and voles, there is a mixture of monogamous and polygynous species” and so on. Therefore, humans are fish with feet, right? Monkey is a common, not scientific, term.
