It is about as yellow-rumped as the Narcissus Flycatcher – the Chinese name which translates as “white-browed flycatcher” is a bit better at highlighting the difference between the two species. Other species in the same esthetic vein (smallish, cute, colorful) included the Siberian Rubythroat.

Nineteen days later we had racked up an amazing list of 436 species, including some of Africa’s least known birds such as Congo Serpent Eagle , Yellow-footed Honeyguide , Tessmann’s Flycatcher , Yellow-bearded Greenbul , Black-collared Lovebird and much besides. We also knew we had discovered Africa’s next hot birding destination.

The ABA has sporadically commented on proposed regulations, but it should develop a more formal process to comment on issues such as the Migratory Bird Treaty Act , the Endangered Species Act , the Duck Stamp , and others. Members will likely also have suggestions for advocacy.

That's what Michigan's State Department of Natural Resources says. Michigan's removal of the bald eagle and gray wolf from the list will be the most significant change in species protection the state has seen in years. The delisting would not open the door for hunters to kill wolves, the state's DNR notes.
