The only wildcat I found was illegally killed by hunters during closed season. Photographed within Beljarica: five White-tailed Eagles by Snezana Panjkovic. Two hundred metres further on, two young White-tailed Eagles were soaring. Yet, the primary job of Beljarica is not to support eagles and otters, but to control the floods.

Definitively the Egyptians!

In 2010, a joint expedition by the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) and the Sudanese Wildlife Society (SWS) found a further 17 electrocuted Egyptian Vultures. Reasons for this situation are numerous. Up to now there have been almost 80 confirmed electrocuted Egyptian Vultures in that area.

We would close the flight around 10 PM to protect them from predators, then we’d get up at four in the morning to open the door again.
