Putting a baby bird back in its nest is not always the right thing to do. Bird brought in by a cat or dog. Even if you do not see an obvious wound, cat or dog saliva, which is full of nasty bacteria, can still get into a bird’s eyes/orifices and will eventually kill the bird; it will just die more slowly and painfully.

A morning in a Kalahari Leopard’s life

We waited with baited breath wondering what would emerge from the obstructing grass and after 3 minutes or so, a very proud young Leopard appeared with a massive and freshly dead African Wild Cat in her jaws. The Wild Cat was such a large individual that the Leopard actually struggled to walk normally whilst dragging it along.

Yeah right! Right now I have a nice hickey on my arm from a Canada Goose. They don’t love us like we love them, right? He knew right where to bite, too – the skin between the thumb and first finger. “One talon really close to the eye, and a scratch on the forehead.”. She had bumble foot, and she was fast and angry.

It was right on the curb and I was concerned about it getting run over. This little guy appeared weak and the wound on its head is very apparent. A young bird, yet to reach flight, is extremely vulnerable to pet cats and dogs. It was chewing on the remains of a little bird that had fallen out of its nest.
