Cape buffaloes weigh 425 to 870 kg (937 to 1,918 lb), whereas African forest buffaloes are much lighter, weighing in at 250 to 320 kg (550–705 lbs). Their eyesight is so acute that buffalos often graze at night.

It’s the boar hunting season. By the cliffs we find several Eurasian Crag-Martins and a consolation species – a family of Golden Eagles in the air! Cows and water buffaloes grazing the dried up lakebed under the imposing shadow of Mt. One Grey-headed Woodpecker flies across the road – a promising start. Enough of the mountains.
