In my imagination, the job of a male Australian Brush Turkey is pretty similar – removing or adding bits and pieces to his pile of rotting vegetation in order to get the right temperature to incubate the eggs buried underneath to hatch. It breeds in tree holes, presumably explaining the more commonly used name for it.

36, if my counting is right and there has been no very recent split or lump. In retrospect, I bet they kept White-crested Laughingthrushes as pets (Hongbenghe, Yunnan). Not bad given that the 5 families in the inner circle of the laughingthrush family have a combined number of about 68 species.

They had a page with quotes from animal rights activists, but as I was reading, I noticed that they were very unfavorable quotes from such activists as Wayne Pacelle and Ingrid Newkirk. I was browsing for some quotes when I came across this group - The National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA).
