We've written about the Calgary Zoo here before. To many people, the number of animal fatalities at the Calgary Zoo in newer years seemed very high. A hippo passed away following a long, horrible transfer from another zoo. Woodyer wanted Lanthier to quit and for the zoo’s accreditation to be taken away.

Busch Gardens’ animal care experts stepped in when they saw that the mother was not attentive. There are only about 35 aardvarks in zoos in North America. He will be raised in Jambo Junction – located in the Nairobi area of the park – and will become one of the park’s educational Animal Ambassadors.

It is currently living behind the scenes at Jambo Junction – located in the Nairobi area of the park – and is receiving care from members of the animal care team. There are fewer than 40 aardvarks in zoos in North America. They are solitary by nature, and aardvark births are not common.

Busch Gardens participates in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP) to ensure genetic diversification among threatened and endangered animals in zoological facilities. Fewer than 15,000 white rhinos remain in the wild, and approximately 200 live in zoological facilities across North America.

The naturalist got out of his car, picked her up, took the tape off her legs, and took her to a local zoo. One of the animal keepers brought her to me, and I put her in my clinic. She was tired, thin, and had several medical issues. to find out her actual age. This filled me with both glee and dismay.

There are the endemics, which are odd in their own way, and then there introduced species, which are so varied in their type and origin that you get the feeling you’ve arrived at the aftermath of a small zoo that escaped. People have moved useful plants and animals around with them as long as they had the wit to do so.
