Growing up in central Oregon, allowed me to experience such a diverse amount of habitat, and the wildlife that resides there. Many refuges in this part of the state, like Malheur refuge, Summer Lake Refuge, and Tule lake Refuge all get the lion’s share of acclaim, and publicity, and deservedly so. I feel like I am home.

They have also been known as Lion Baboons and Bleeding-heart Baboons, due respectively to the males’ lion-like cape and tail, and the bare patch of red skin on both sex’s chests. Especially in the dry season, bands join together forming grazing herds, which can number up to 1,200 animals (although 500-600 is more normal.)

She turned, looked, and by the expression on her face I guessed she was thinking “Goodness, I’m glad that was not a lion.”. Have you ever seen the Dryfus Lion? He also had tigers, cougars, and some other animals. Smaller and larger animals (if there are any) are taken by other creatures. Unless we put them there.

Who would have thought that a post defending hunting game in general would have not been universally acclaimed? I will address two of them in the new year, namely, “Is hunting moral at all?”

Watching them hunt is fascinating. I’ve seen Secretarybirds zigzag after fleeing animals, spreading their huge wings periodically, presumably in an effort to maintain their balance as they twist and turn. When a fire is located they will descend and feed upon small animals that flee the flames. Note the huge wings.

I’m glad she shot that lion, and I think you should shoot a lion too (Only where valid, terms and conditions apply.

The definition of the word HUNT is “to chase or search for game or other wild animals for the purpose of catching or killing.” ” Obviously the dictionary does not equate hunting with conservation. People don’t respect wildlife. Some people actually don’t consider human beings as animals.
