And the morning before the Mkuze pack of Painted Wolves, or African Wild Dogs, had been very close to one of the park’s few Lions, as far as tracking collars had told. Her concern was well founded.

It is important to ensure the safety of all rescue personnel that are attempting to assist with an injured animal by keeping everyone calm, including your pet. CPR is best when performed by two people.

Although lip service was paid to the fact that lions are endangered and a lion was poached, the language of anger was the language of animals rights. Animal rights is concerned with individual animals, and their suffering and welfare.

It has been a humbling 17 days as I walk the dogs early, shower, and get gussied up to sit in traffic for 1.5 hours on I-95 (we here in South Florida are known for our very limited public transportation options--boy do I miss NYC). Imagine if kids in 4-H were taught how to raise dogs for dogfighting (not a perfect analogy, I know).

And you can’t drive on the Interstate without seeing signs telling you when to exit for the “Dog Track.”
