When adopting a rescue there are added considerations on selecting the right dog for your lifestyle. Many shelters have the ability to test dogs with other dogs as well as cats.

So I live in an area where there are stray cats. I was like ok maybe they wanna adopt one idk. I just couldn’t take it suffering in there no food no water barley shelter from the sun. Since I’ve moved here last year I have had 5 cats fixed and found homes for 9 kittens. Anyway I have 4 more that need homes.

We are excited to tell you about Animal Protective Association’s Harmony House for Cats new eco-friendly, net-zero cat shelter in Chicago! New volunteers, supporters and adopters are always welcome. The grand opening for the new shelter will be on Sunday, July 8 from 2-6 pm at 2914 N Elston. It is free and open to the public.

Investigative journalism by the Salt Lake Tribune, following-up on allegations levelled by PETA against the University of Utah's Comparative Medicine Center and the Cardiovascular Research & Training Institute laboratories revealed the two laboratories had used 190 dogs and cats in 2009, all obtained from shelters.

On May 5, 2010, I adopted a two-year-old poodle/terrier mix from our local shelter, Animal Allies. She came from another shelter as a stray, had been abused, was very skinny, and she was extremely shy and afraid of everyone. My name is Jan. I named her Angel. I fell in love with her immediately.
