The new regulations were open to comments until March 22, 2016 and received 572 comments. Modifying the art rules to include additional and appropriate bird species is an ideal way to raise that possibility. The focus of the stamp should remain on waterfowl and not be re-focused or diluted by adding non-waterfowl species.

A brief personal digression: I moved back into the house I grew up in back in 2014, my parents vacated at the end of 2016. With that logic those trees, if left to grow, should produce something of use to at least one or two species of birds. Of course, various species of bats as well. A Yellow-crowned Parrot digs in.

By the time we had arrived at the local train station we had seen numerous bird species and every field appeared to have several Common Pheasant feeding in the late afternoon. The other prominent species along the river bank was Common Redshank and they were a bird we saw regularly over the time that we were in the UK. Common Eider.
