Kerkini in Winter

A Kerkini mini-tiger Disappointingly, mammal encounters are few, other than the odd Roe Deer. Otters are regularly reported, but I’ve yet to see one here, but I have had a number of encounters with Wild Cats , which are quite common and may even be encountered during the day. It was photographed on the east embankment.

Rancho Naturalista Lodge, Costa Rica, or in the Land of Coffee and Chocolate

A Wood Stork lands in a tree, while one Neotropical River Otter swims across and climbs a floating log. There was a Gartered Trogon right above me, and one cooperative Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth on a cecropia tree, raising its head to smile at us. A group (maybe 4-5 ex.)

Feral Cats Are An Invasive Species in North America (and elsewhere)

As she continued her monologue about these cats, the Wildcat cautiously walked in our direction, never taking its eyes off of us, stiff-legged, ears motionless, striped like a standard “tiger” domestic cat but entirely in grays. I once knew a guy who kept and raised cats. He also had tigers, cougars, and some other animals.
