Crows in the Pacific Northwest: Northwestern, American, or Something In Between?

Circumstances have been such, that the bulk of my visits to Nisqually, have been in the winter, so the refuge, in the peak of a Seattle Summer, is a much different place. USA species – 111.

Week three, the road goes on forever.

Back Yard Birds

Over the last weekend, my wife and I made a whirl-wind trip from Mexico, up to the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle area, where we stayed with the in-laws. Having lived in Seattle, and much of the Pacific Northwest, there were no surprises, or new species, but it certainly was enjoyable to see the winter birds that never make it down to Mexico.

Santa comes to La Paz early

She was visiting Seattle, for her Dad’s successful heart surgery. In fact, the last time, would be back in the late 70’s with my college classmates when we traveled to Malheur Refuge, up in Oregon. On her return, she was able to bundle up and bring with her, a brand new Nikon lens. This is going to be so much fun!!

Such is the case when we got a call from our good friends Scott and Monica, inviting us to travel with them by sailboat up to the San Juan Islands, north of Seattle.
