Each day, the small bird then has to fly down and find a resting place, an area to feed and take shelter. If it finds a good spot to survive for several months, a spot with enough food and shelter, it might be able to fly all the way back to the north for another summer of song and nesting. Birds too, if they can catch them.

All companion animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, rats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, birds, snakes, and lizards would be considered as pets. If it passes, San Francisco residents would have to go to a shelter or rescue group to adopt an animal. Pet sales would be banned altogether, except for the sale of pet fish.

but did experiment on mice and guinea pigs. It reminded me of an adoption poster at the animal shelter. Then, heading out, I noticed three little knitted mice. Tags: animal experimentation mice Guinea Pigs medical research biotech. I can't really talk about what I do except that I work in government. Weird, weird, weird.

I got my first pets, mice and guinea pigs, when I was 8. Many mutts you can get from the pound or animal shelter make terrific pets. I strongly encourage people to adopt pound and shelter animals. I believe between ages 4 and 8 is ideal, although older kids can also benefit. Purebred or mixed breed?

Nonnative species have huge impacts on wildlife species everywhere… mice kill seabird chicks in their burrows, rats eat endangered bird eggs, overpopulated deer clear the understory of forests, pigs root out native plants and terrestrial animals, cats kill anything they can get their paws on. The logic of this is ridiculous.

Here we should see the flightless Lyall’s Wren , once called Stephen’s Island Wrens (after the island they were first described from), as they scurry around the forest floor like mice! The sheltered bays of the Coromandel are home to another endemic, the Southern Merganser. It certainly has no known relatives.
