The announcement below comes verbatim from the Pacific Free Press.they still need approval from the Canadian Transportation Agency though. Today, more than 40 animal advocacy organizations across Canada praised Air Canada for its recent decision to stop shipping non-human primates into the country for use in research laboratories.

Part of the world they wanted to transport was natural. Secondly, New Zealand had already experienced on wave of extinction due to the introduction or rats and human hunting. We don’t have monkeys, or wildebeest, or salmon here. There were no mammals, little game, and not many birds either.

A couple bends along the trail and it seemed as if we were out of human contact by a thousand miles. Spider monkeys swung through the highest branches, occasionally letting themselves fall to only a few boughs below, to peer curiously at these poorly adapted bipeds. A Screaming Piha cemented the ambience as one of true wilderness.
