I'm a vegan who thinks we shouldn't be using animals even if we change the conditions of their use. Of course there are oodles of vegetarians who mention veganism and how difficult and restricting it is, and overall I'm having a fairly disheartening experience. After all, who I am doesn't stop at vegan.

Are we pinning people down and force-feeding them vegan burritos? According to Parker, here are the threats: the ALF, the ELF, SHAC, PeTA and the oddest member of the group, the HSUS. In the bigger picture, it is dis-heartening that these activists groups cause so much harm to the very animals they profess to be “defending”.

My husband has two friends (a male/female couple) who are transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and I also have two friends (both women) who are transitioning from omnivore and all are dreading Thanksgiving. You can't play to everyone in a large group (unless it's homogeneous), so many people don't try. Not humans, not animals."

I then promptly completely caved in and bought Wellness ' new large breed, definitely nonvegan dry food (and I always soak kibble) that has 25% protein (Natural Balance Vegetarian has 18%, and all from non-animal sources) and I've started cutting some in just in case (I'll stop at 50%).

First, Chris directed me to ePub Bud , which appears to be a timely and fantastic idea given my recent plea for more books for children about veganism. If there's a local group that is in need of a skill that you have (grantwriting, newsletter writing, website development, photography), I'd imagine that's a possibility.

I have been working in the animal movement for several decades on 2 continents, and have been vegetarian for nearly 40 years and vegan for 25 of those years.
