The EU's executive Commission last year proposed a range of measures to improve the welfare of the 12 million vertebrate animals used in experiments each year, mostly mice and rats. I had never heard of the use of ferrets in medical research though. A national physicians group has filed a federal complaint against the University of Washington, saying its use of ferrets to train medical residents in emergency procedures on babies and children violates a federal animal-welfare law. I don't believe they are working for human welfare. I almost quit a book club a year ago because one of the members is a proponent of medical research. I had to stay in that group because she must be challenged. All of this BS by medical researchers must be challenged. I believe they want to be gods in the laboratory.
