Irish Senator Complains of Animal Welfare "Cabal"

Fine Gael and rural Fianna Fáil backbenchers have called for greyhound breeders to be exempt because the industry is already regulated by existing legislation. The dog breeding legislation, intended to outlaw “puppy-farming”, was prepared by Green Party leader and Minister for the Environment John Gormley.

On Food for the Soul

Essentially, industrialized farming=soulless, small family farm=soulful. Food for my soul does not involve grilled greyhound any more than it involves grilled chicken. What that means is that it wasn't a factory-farm operation. It doesn't involve taking the life of someone who'd much rather not have her life taken.

I'm not sure why he thinks we "appear" to be effective, as I can't think of one campaign that I've supported, other than the banning of greyhound racing in individual states, that has actually succeeded.
