Along with partner Elin Taranger they run Biotope in Varanger, Arctic Norway and have been a key influence in the creation of Gullfest , an exciting trip combining Taiga Birding, dog -sledding (and I’m guessing lots of drinking).

Barnacle Geese and their downy-grey cygnets were everywhere, grazing alongside picnickers and sunbathers. Still, I was glad to be able to snap some shots of these very special (at least to me) geese. Sweden was one of the most memorable places on this trip, and ending our stay here with these geese sent us off on a high note.

The Lesser White-fronted Goose is not only rare in Serbia, but also overlooked among numerous Greater White-fronted Geese. Illegal spring hunting and round-ups of moulting birds are taking place on the Russian breeding grounds and illegal shooting continues in Norway. Lesser White-fronted Goose Anser eruthtropus.
