Where can I see Cabanis’s Ground-Sparrow followed by a fantastic meal ? Local guide and birder David Mora Vargas has been spending much of his time at his family’s farm in the Sarapiqui lowlands. Like a spy or avian investigator, I can scope them right through the front door, watch them at will.

I recently heard from Chris Kirkby, the Managing Director and Principal Investigator at Asociacion Fauna Forever , a Peruvian not-for-profit organisation based in Lima and Puerto Maldonado, about a series of bird-banding workshops being held this June and November in the rainforests of Tambopata in south-eastern Peru.

But I have been sick with different kinds and forms of cold since the beginning of December with no interruption, and so has my entire family. A few dead birds were collected by authorities and sent to a laboratory for investigation. Okay, I meant to write an entertaining post. I honestly did. Sickening!
