According to the HBW entry for this species, it “has been claimed that loss of native mammals after European settlement created shortage of nesting material, explaining this species’ penchant for taking hair from humans.”

Here goes: Paradise Flycatchers are a genus in the broader (and rather large) family of Monarchidae. There are 17 different species of them, a few of them endangered, particularly some island endemics. At any rate goodbye Tony Abbott you awful terrible ghastly reprehensible and useless excuse for a human being. They are large, scruffy looking kingfisher by ancestry, five species of that family founds across Australia and New Guinea. Progress, of a sort. This is a double edged sword for me. By which I mean none.

If studying insects would lead you to suppose that God had an “an inordinate fondness for beetles&# , studying the pre-human avifauna of the Pacific would lead you to conclude that God was also quite partial to rails. How many species there were is probably lost to history, but there were certainly many hundreds.
