Best Bird of the Weekend (Fourth of October 2020)

Even though I had to work most of the weekend, I enjoyed a few striking nature encounters, including an opportunity to observe a Cooper’s Hawk chase a rabbit across an expanse of suburbia. If you were wondering, the rabbit won this encounter. Corey enjoyed some good birding on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Not enough Woodpeckers

“I am not bad-looking, I am just badly photographed”: A Bay Woodpecker (Fraser’s Hill, Malaysia) using a joke from “Roger Rabbit” The pinkish eyerings of the Brown-capped Pygmy Woodpecker (Tansa, India) make it look as if it is constantly suffering from a hangover. Kind of like a diesel version.
